For those of you looking for something green to wear tomorrow, don't forget this year's Shelter From The Storm shirt! They're $10 and available in sizes small, medium, large and extra large. Email Bob Fenster at bfenster@hillsborugh.k12.nj.us or students can come to Room 212 in the high school.
With Spring Break looming, Shelter will be here before we blink -- "Shelter Week" begins April 5. There will be an array of guest speakers available for classroom visits that week, so look for information on how to sign up shortly. In addition, some materials for lesson plans related to our theme (wounded soldiers, traumatic brain injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder) have been prepared and will be distributed shortly via email.
We will be accepting books for the book sale (April 10) up until Wednesday, April 7. Books can be dropped off in the main office or to Katie D'Onofrio.
And one more reminder: if you know of alumni and current or former staff that are serving or have served in any branch of the military, please let me know.
Please begin talking about Shelter to your classes, teams and clubs to help us build momentum and excitement. The charity we are raising money for is the Wounded Warrior Project: www.woundedwarriorproject.org. And if you belong to a local community group or religious institution, please spread the word! The festival (April 10) is particularly well suited for young children. And the concert (April 9) is going to feature a dizzying array of HHS talent, including alum and comedian Adam Mamawala.
